Niu, meaning coconut, is a symbol of When the Polynesians first came to Hawaii they saw the coconut tree stretching into the sky, flexible and strong. These trees symbolized and served as a powerful reminder of their ancestral roots. The sconce is made in Hawaii by local artist Leighton Lam. The sconce is made of solid copper with Japanese high-strength etched glass. The patina finish is hand painted with a green verdigris (patina) detailing.
