Sea turtle- handmade wooden bookmark

Description

This double-sided bookmark is made from two species of hardwood and hand sanded to 5000 grit for a silky, soft finish. The image was hand cut by scroll saw, making it truly one of a kind! It measures approximately 6 inches tall, 1.6 inches wide, and 1/8th of an inch at its thickest.

I use pure tung oil to finish these bookmarks, which highlights the grain and natural color of the wood. Tung oil hardens over time when exposed to air, resulting in a low-luster finish that is both beautiful and durable. In addition to being a centuries-old favorite finishing oil, tung oil is also one of the most environmentally friendly options for wood finishes.

This bookmark was handmade with consideration for both visual aesthetic and tactile experience. In this digital age, picking up a physical book is often done because the reader prefers the visual experience of printed words and the tactile experience of turning physical pages, and I want to provide a tool that would be chosen for the same reasons.
